Korean company KoMiCo signs an agreement to build a factory in Mesa

PHOENIX — Korean company KoMiCo has signed an agreement to build a semiconductor equipment cleaning and repair facility in Mesa.

The facility will be located in the Superstition Springs area and will be KoMiCo’s largest location in the U.S. It is scheduled to open in 2026, according to a press release.

The facility will be 125,000 square feet and will include clean rooms, state-of-the-art equipment and a robust suite of diagnostic tools.

“KoMiCo is proud to partner with the City of Mesa to establish the Silicon Desert as the most technologically advanced semiconductor manufacturing region in the United States,” said Shawn Jang, KoMiCo’s U.S. CEO, in the press release.

The company will invest over $50 million in the Mesa facility and create 200 new jobs, the press release said.

“I am pleased that KoMiCo is bringing well-paying manufacturing jobs in advanced technologies to Mesa District 6,” Scott Somers, council member of Mesa’s 6th District, said“Moving these jobs and processes to the United States also strengthens our country’s vital semiconductor supply chain.”
