The decklist contains 37 creatures, eight sorceries, five instant spells, eight artifacts, six enchantments, And 34 countries. Since Helga, Skittish Seer is all about creatures with a mana value of four or more, the majority of the deck is made up of creatures that meet this criteria.

Key cards

Helga, timid seer

MTG Helga, Skittish Seer card with background art.

Helga, timid seer is the commander of the deck and gives the deck its explosive factor. It grows in stats when you cast a creature with a mana value of four or morewhich in turn can be used to Tap for even more mana to cast more creatures. With ways to untap Helga, you can ensure that her effects keep triggering.

Although “Helga, Skittish Seer” is a very strong card, the deck functions perfectly without it, so even if it is countered or removed, you have other tools to ensure you can play your spells.

Helga offers a lot of value when you just play your deck. She not only acts as a mana dork for creatures, but also brings you life And draws you cards. It only costs three mana to play by itself, so you can improve its stats very early in the game. Since Helga puts +1/+1 counters on herself, cards that give additional counters can let Helga tap to cast multiple creature spells.

Defiler of Power

Since you are playing a creature-based deck, Defiler of Power puts +1/+1 counters when you cast green permanents. The majority of permanents in the deck are green, ensuring that Defiler of Vigor will always trigger. You can pay 2 life for the green mana costwhich saves mana for other spells. Since Helga gains life, this loss of life is hardly noticeable.

Helga wants to have as many +1/+1 counters on it as possibletherefore, Defiler of Vigor’s effect is particularly useful to enlarge it so that it can be tapped for an excess amount of mana. A many creatures in the deck have trampleand can make them an even bigger threat than they already are by adding counters.

Millennial Elixir

Millennial Elixir is one of the biggest factors in Helga’s effect. Normally you would have to wait a turn to use Helga’s advantages, but since it is a activated ability, you can use it as if it had haste with thousand-year elixir.

With the Millennial Elixir you can Untap any creature so you can use Helga’s ability multiple times one turn. This mana can only be used for creature spells, but if Helga has high power, it may be enough to cast all the creatures in your hand.

With Thousand-Year Elixir and Helga, the Skittish Seer, you can use Helga’s ability to generate one type of mana, untap it with Elixir, and tap Helga again to get a different color of mana.

Keruga, the macro-sager

MTG Keruga, the Macrosage card with the art in the background.

Of all permanents in the deck only 12 have a mana value of two or lesswhich means that you draw a card from almost every Keruga, the macro-sager comes into play. Although you can’t use her as a companion, she’s definitely worth playing in your deck.

Since Keruga, the Macrosage doesn’t do anything after its enter the field effect triggers, you should wait to cast it until you have a battlefield full of permanents with a mana value of three or more to ensure the effect has an impact.

The sheer amount of cards Kregua can draw can fill your entire hand depending on what is in front of it on the battlefield. It also has solid stats and is relatively easy to water (particularly thanks to the easy mana generation).

Fanatics of Rhonas

Fanatics of Rhonas is a great mana replacement when Helga can’t stay on the battlefield. Normally it only costs one mana, but its wild ability is what makes it so powerful. Since you have at least one creature with power four or more most of the time, it’s easy to tap four for green mana.

Fanatic of Rhonas has perpetuate, This means that even if it is ever removed, you can bring it back as a 4/4 Zombie for four mana. If you immortalize it, since its power is four, its ability is always tapped for four mana.

How to play the deck

Helga, the shy seer, is quite flood the battlefield with creatures and accumulate a huge board state. This happens with various mana dorks like Helga themselves, together with Fanatics of Rhonas, Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea, And Inga and Esika, The latter turns all your creatures into mana dorks while you draw cards.

Since you want to tap Helga for mana multiple times per turn, cards that untap her are very useful.
Thousand-Year Elixir, Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner,
And
Seal of the Patriarch
all of them allow you to do just that and should be used almost exclusively on Helga.

The deck offers a lot of possibilities, Ramp to bring more countries to the battlefield. It features the usual green ramp card suite, along with Bonny Pall, clear-cutter, Chulande, storyteller, And Karametra, God of the Harvest.

Over and beyond Enchantments that put more counters on your creatures makes them all greater threats and, in Helga’s case, even allows the use of even more mana. Branched evolution, hardened scales, And Community brewing all give additional counters, and Dominance of brokers put +1/+1 counters on all your creatures each end step.

This deck is all about creating a situation on the field that quickly gets out of control. Thanks to its above-average mana generation, you can outperform most of your opponents. Your primary The winning condition is victory by combat. You can easily improve the stats of your creatures to make them a major threat and hit your opponents with big bursts of damage, potentially enough to win in a turn.

The The biggest weakness of the deck is that it can get into trouble after a board wipe. Since it is heavily creature based, it can be difficult to lose all of them. You can rebuild, but if your opponents can stop you before you rebuild, you will be taken out of the game. Since Helga snowballs so quickly, They will probably become the main enemy very quickly, so you will be targeted more often than your opponents.
