Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 10 wickets in Rawalpindi Test to make history

Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh made history on August 25 when they claimed their first victory in Test cricket against Shan Masood-led Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

In the opening Test of the 2-match series in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh secured a 10-wicket victory. This is Bangladesh’s first Test win against Pakistan. In the last seven years, they have won only two Tests on foreign soil.

After this victory, Bangladesh Cricket tuned in and congratulated the entire team on a historic win.

It may be surprising, but Pakistan have not won a Test at home against South Africa since February 2021, according to Cricinfo.

Bangladesh’s recent victory over Pakistan may be a cause for concern for the people of the country, which has experienced much political chaos and violence in recent months.

This was the first time since 2002 that Bangladesh and Pakistan played each other in a bilateral series. The two countries previously faced each other in a test match in the 2001 Asian Test Championship, which also featured Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka emerged victorious from that series.
