actress Bhakti Rathodknown for her work in the hit TV show ‘Pushpa Impossible‘, and will next be seen in the film Journey, is all set to start a new chapter in her career with the release of her first Hindi play.

Their play promises a battle of wits between the characters and offers a unique blend of sensitive comedy and thought-provoking entertainment.

Talking about her approach to the play, Bhakti said, “The play is a battle of intelligence between the characters. A once upon a time that will keep you hooked. I feel it is important to keep my characters quirky and realistic and try to offer sensible comedy without resorting to illogical humour. For me, entertainment always comes first; I don’t like to preach as I believe the audience is intelligent enough to understand morals.”

This is an important milestone in her journey as a writer as she is venturing into the Hindi theatre space for the first time. Her earlier works in Gujarati theatre were received with acclaim, which encouraged her to explore further and take up new challenges.

“Writing comes as naturally to me as acting and it is my lucky break. After the first few plays were well received on Gujarati stages, I dared to explore more. It is a passion that comes from being a voracious reader and wanting to tell my stories,” she added.

The idea for this play came about when the actress presented it to producer Sachin Parekh, who immediately agreed to bring the play to the stage.

She recalls how the piece was put together: “When I presented the idea for this piece to the producer, we knew we wanted to see it performed. I’m looking forward to seeing the team that has come together for this project and the tremendous talent of everyone involved.”

Sachin Parekh, the producer of Peppy Tale Films, praised Bhakti’s deep understanding of the theatre audience and her ability to develop a storyline that resonates with them. “She understands the theatre audience very well and keeping that in mind has developed a fabulous storyline for the four characters of this drama.”
