My music connects me with God and people – Nwaoduah

Gospel singer and songwriter Ify Nwaoduah has confidently stated that she connects with God through her songs and uses her music to create a deep connection with the divine power within others.

Their goal is to inspire, support and guide people and to motivate them to talk about their faith in God.

A graduate of the Department of Accounting, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, she proudly represented Abuja at the inaugural edition of Glo NaijaSings in 2019. Since then, she has composed over 100 devotional prayer songs from the Book of Psalms to guide and encourage listeners to meditate.

Nwaoduah, who recently released a new single titled “Our Father,” confidently described the song as a powerful morning devotion and profound yet everyday prayer. She emphasized the uniqueness and importance of the Lord’s Prayer in churches, schools and other gatherings, with the aim of teaching a simple prayer and reminding people of the presence of God in their lives and leading them to worship.
In a recent interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday, Nwaoduah spoke about her remarkable journey in the music industry and the impact of her songs. She candidly shared her singing beginnings at the age of 14 as a member of her school’s music club and later joining the local choir in Lekki, Lagos.

Nwaoduah sees gospel music as a powerful medium to inspire, motivate, relieve tension and convey messages about God, which enables her to confidently connect with people.

The inspiration behind her music is rooted in fulfilling a purpose, worship and connecting with a higher power. With unwavering confidence, Nwaoduah uses her music to reach out to listeners both young and old, encouraging them not to lose hope in God and themselves and to strive for a better society.

She boldly hopes that her music will renew the heart, uplift the soul, and provide listeners with an opportunity to confidently connect and strive for good through acts of faith, hope, and love.

The gospel singer said she consciously takes care of her body, mind and soul and spends time with her loved ones. She finds creative ways to get things done, no matter how small, and trusts her intuition and a higher power to make things work out for the better.
