Rebel Wilson found the process of writing her memoirs “heartbreaking” and “emotional.”

The “Pitch Perfect” actress posted a video on her Instagram stories on Wednesday in which she signs an autograph on the first page of her autobiography “Rebel Rising.”

Rebel gave a taste of what fans can expect from the book and insight into the writing process.

“Guys, I mean, I can’t wait for you to read this,” she was heard saying in the video. “You’re going to see a whole new side of me. Lots of funny stuff and serious stuff… And hopefully you’re going to love the book as much as I loved writing it – even though it was heartbreaking and emotional at times.”

The Australian actress also panned the camera around to show a large box of pages for her to sign.

“This is how I spend my nights on vacation. Just a few thousand more for the first people to buy the book,” she said. “Four thousand more. Let’s go.”

Rebel announced her memoirs in October and they will be released on April 2, 2024.

The 43-year-old told People at the time that she had a hard time finding her writing style at the beginning of the project.

“I think the first few chapters were really crap,” she said. “Then the editor said, ‘That just doesn’t sound like you.’ So I started just sitting there by myself, like I was telling the story to a friend. I just found my own writing style – like I was sitting across from my friend and telling him the deepest secrets of my life, which is a little scary.”
