Qualifiers Destanee Aiava and Priscilla Hon will face a daunting task in getting past Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka respectively, while fellow qualifier Kimberly Birrell will face Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalist Donna Vekic of Croatia.

In the men’s doubles, all eyes are on the Paris 2024 Olympic champion Matthew Ebden. The Australian is also the reigning Australian Open champion along with his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna. They are seeded second behind Spaniard Marcel Granollers and his Argentinian partner Horacio Zeballos.

Ebden-Bopanna reached the final of the US Open last year, where he lost to Rajeev Ram of the USA and Joe Salisbury of Great Britain.
