In his recent monthly programme, Mann ki Baat, he referred to his Independence Day appeal calling on 100,000 young people with no political experience to enter politics and stressed the positive response the appeal had elicited.
Here are some key quotes from Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address:

  • “This year, from the Red Fort, I have met 100,000 young people from Political background to connect with the political system. This point of mine has generated enormous response. So we know that a large number of our young people are eager to enter politics…”
  • “During the Freedom movementCountless people from all walks of life came forward, even though they had no political background. They devoted themselves entirely to the India’s independence. To realise the vision of Viksit Bharat, we need to rekindle the same spirit today.”
  • “On August 23, the country celebrated the first National Space Day. I am sure you all celebrated this day. Once again, you all celebrated the success of Chandrayaan-3. Last year on this day, Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed at the Shiv Shakti point in the southern part of the moon. India was the first country in the world to achieve this feat.”
  • “Every house is a tricolour and the whole country is a tricolour.” This time the campaign was at its peak. From every corner of the country, stunning pictures have emerged related to this campaign… The Tiranga rally was carried out in Jammu and Kashmir with a 750-metre long flag and this rally was held on the world’s highest Chenab Railway Bridge.

Various types of research and experiments on the Sanskrit language are being carried out in many countries around the world.”
  • “Toy recycling is an area where we can work together. You also know how quickly many children get bored with toys, while other children dream of having such toys. You can donate the toys that your children no longer play with to places where they can be used. This is also a good way to protect the environment.”
  • “Children’s nutrition is a top priority. Although their nutrition is the focus throughout the year, there is one month when the entire country gives special emphasis on it. That is why we celebrate ‘Poshan Maah’ every year from September 1 to 30. To create awareness among people about nutrition, many methods are used like nutrition fairs, anemia camps, home visits to newborns, seminars and webinars.”
  • “Telugu Language Day is also on the 29th of this month. It is a truly wonderful language. I send my best wishes to all Telugu speakers across the world on Telugu Language Day.”
