The 2024 US Open begins on Monday with the first matches of the main draw singles tournaments.
Defending champions Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff are aiming to become the first doubles winners since Serena Williams a decade ago.
Djokovic, who just won his first Olympic gold medal, is aiming for his 25th Grand Slam singles title to break the tie with Margaret Court, who holds the most titles in history.
Gauff, who last year became the youngest American woman to win a major singles title since Williams’ first of 23 titles in 1999, is looking to continue her winning streak: every year in the modern era, an American man or woman has made it to at least one Grand Slam singles final.
This has not happened at the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon this year.

Draw for the US Open 2024, Men’s Singles
Italian Jannik Sinner is the top seed in the men’s singles, followed by Djokovic and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner and Alcaraz could meet in the semifinals.
Among the top 20 seeded men are five Americans, the most since the number of seeded players was increased from 16 to 32 in 2001: Taylor Fritz (12), Ben Shelton (13), Tommy Paul (14), Sebastian Korda (16) and Frances Tiafoe (20).
US Open 2024 Women’s Singles Draw
Poland’s Iga Swiatek is the top seed in the women’s singles, followed by Aryna Sabalenka and Gauff. Sabalenka and Gauff, who met in the final in 2023, could meet in the semifinals this year.
Among the top 16 seeded women are five Americans, more than at any time since 2002: Gauff (3), Jessica Pegula (6), Danielle Collins (11), Emma Navarro (13) and Madison Keys (14).
