Upcoming Events at the Batavia Chamber – Shaw Local

Visit the Batavia Chamber of Commerce this fall for a series of events designed to engage, connect and celebrate our vibrant community. From planning a purposeful aging strategy at Eye on Aging to networking with new members to celebrating successes at Chamber Cheers, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a long-time Batavia resident or new to Batavia, these events provide an opportunity to connect with local businesses, support the community and enjoy Batavia’s unique charm.

A look at aging, September 10

All are welcome to attend Eye on Aging on Tuesday, September 10. The focus will be on planning for a successful retirement and developing a healthy aging strategy. Vendor booths will allow you to discover local resources, speak with experts, and gain valuable information to help you and your family. Breakout presentations will cover aspects of aging well. This event is not just for seniors and their caregivers; it is for individuals in their 40s and older who want to age healthily and happily.

Eye on Aging will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the Lincoln Inn Banquets, 1345 S. Batavia Ave. For more information, including a list of event topics and times, visit bataviachamber.org/events. It’s free to attend. You’ll receive a free tote bag and a raffle ticket to win $100 in Batavia Chamber Bucks. A bar and free appetizers will be available. This is our second annual event. If you attended last year, you know how informative it was. Come back this year to learn new things.

Businesses and organizations wishing to have a vendor booth should contact Patti Anselme, the Chamber’s Special Events Coordinator, for more information and to reserve their space. Anselme can be reached at 630-879-7134, ext. 3, or [email protected].

Networking with a new member presentation

Each month we host two open networking events. Coffee & Commerce is the second Wednesday of the month at 8am. Our after-hours event, Net-Working It, is the third Wednesday of the month at 4:30pm. This schedule has a purpose. If your schedule makes it easier for you to attend a morning event, Coffee & Commerce will wake you up. If an evening event fits your schedule better and you want to support a different nonprofit each month, plan to attend Net-Working It. Or attend both to maximize your visibility.

In September, we’re changing things up a bit. We’ve added a new member presentation to our Net-Working It event, which will take place on Wednesday, September 18, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St., Batavia. We’ll be showcasing some of our newest members against a backdrop of beautiful artwork. All are invited to mingle, meet some of our newest chamber members, and support our spotlighted nonprofit, Water Street Studios.

Celebrate at Chamber Cheers on October 3

We’re hosting a party in October to celebrate our Chamber members, and you’re invited. We’ll meet you on Thursday, October 3rd, at Grainology Brewstillery, 1131 Flinn St., in Batavia. During this fun evening, we’ll honor our Donna Dallesasse Award winner, our Georgene Kauth O’Dwyer Ambassador of the Year, and celebrate our milestone members. The casual event will feature bountiful appetizers, a bar, dessert, and live music by The Old Fashioneds. Tickets are $50 each, and sponsorships are available. Please come join us.
