Your weekend reading is here…

Dear reader,

The shock of the 2024 results has not yet subsided among the BJP and its supporters.

While the party has not yet regained its momentum and seems to be constantly on the defensive, a considerable portion of its supporters have also drowned themselves in the mood of doom.

Some are writing off the Modi brand and others are questioning the party’s commitment to its original Hindutva. The integration of Khatakhat politics into the mainstream and the revival of the caste system as a decisive factor have only reinforced this fatalistic pessimism.

In the latest edition of the weekend magazine Swarajya, my colleague Sharan argues that it is not the Modi brand that has died, but rather the party has paid the price for its strategic missteps.

Distribution of ballot papers, lack of coordination with RSS, gaps in communication with voters, failure to counter disinformation – the party seems to be on the way to bringing order to its affairs.

An important meeting between BJP and RSS at the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suggests this. Read more about it in this edition of our weekend magazine.

Also read in this issue an insightful article by Banuchandar Nagarajan on the need to reorganize the IT cell to meet the challenges of a post-truth world.
