Witnesses informed the police yesterday evening shortly after 9:30 p.m. that an unknown attacker had injured several people with a knife on the Fronhof, the city’s central square.

The police are still looking for the attacker, who fled the scene. They assume that the stabbings were carried out by a lone perpetrator. The motive for the attack is still unclear.

The stabbings occurred during a diversity festival marking the city’s 650th anniversary, which began on Friday and was due to last until Sunday. Organizers had expected thousands of visitors.
