Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod and the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod will partner to build a new, affordable home in five days.

From September 23 to 27, a team of professionals is expected to complete a flash build on a three-bedroom Cape home on Jack Delaney Lane in Dennis. The home will be one of four affordable homes being built on the street.

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod purchased the land with funds from the Dennis Community Preservation Act.

Every two years, the industry association comes together to build a home. Hundreds of its members and partners donate materials, supplies and labor so that the home can be purchased by a local family with an affordable mortgage.

“We are grateful that the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod continues to enthusiastically take on the challenge of fully financing and building a Habitat Cape Cod home in just five days,” said Wendy Cullinan, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, in a statement. “Aside from the opportunity it provides to the local family purchasing the home, the Blitz home raises awareness of the tremendous need for affordable housing here on Cape Cod.”

April Ducott, president of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod, said in a statement that the project “demonstrates the incredible unity and dedication within our community.”

“Together we are building more than just houses; we are creating hope for a better future,” Ducott said.
