Jimi Wanjigi explains X-account with daughter Muthoni Wanjigi name faked

The newly created account under the username Muthoni Wanjigi on X (formerly Twitter) caused a stir on social media on Friday, August 23.

An X-Account (formerly Twitter) allegedly belonging to the daughter of businessman Jimi Wanjigi caused a stir among Kenyans on Friday, August 23.

The account holder explained the reason for joining the platform in writing:

“Hi everyone. After careful consideration, I’ve decided to join X – a place where culture, conversations, and connections are alive. As a platform where the energy of my fellow Gen Zers comes alive, this is where the conversations that matter happen in real time. I’m so excited.”

Within hours, the account gained thousands of followers who believed it belonged to the politician’s daughter, prompting Wanjigi to clarify the matter.

Wanjigi shared a screenshot of the account in question, labeling the account “fake” and clarifying that it is in no way connected to his daughter.

Using memes, netizens hilariously described how they interacted with the account, with some claiming they even arranged a meeting with the account holder because they believed she was Jimi Wanjigi’s daughter.

The Wanjigi family has been in the headlines in recent days following a police raid on the businessman’s home in Muthaiga.

Police were unable to locate Wanjigi, who claimed in a subsequent interview that he had been at home throughout the ordeal.

“Yes, I was in my house, but beyond that I will not tell you where and how and what is in my house.” He explained, adding that he witnessed police raiding his home and harassing his family.

Wanjigi and his wife Nzisa have two children who managed to live their lives away from the public eye until they appeared on television during the raid earlier this week.

The two, Maina and Wambui, described their horror at the police during the raid, which lasted several hours but did not result in the arrest of the wealthy billionaire.

The couple enrolled their children at the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, which is considered one of the most expensive educational institutions and pays its graduates royalties.
