New Bedford man arrested in connection with Dartmouth stabbing – Boston News, Weather, Sports

DARTMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) – A 20-year-old New Bedford man faces charges in connection with a stabbing at a Dartmouth motel on Wednesday, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 12 p.m. Wednesday at the Capri Motel on State Road.

After Dartmouth Police received a report of a fight and possible stabbing, officers arrived at the scene to find a man suffering from a stab wound.

According to police, rescue workers took the injured person to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Less than 24 hours later, just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, law enforcement officers from the Massachusetts State Police, Fall River Police Department and Dartmouth police worked together to arrest Isaiah Ventura in Fall River, police said.

According to police, Ventura is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily harm and assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to court records, Ventura was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in New Bedford District Court.
