Cristian Perez Latorre is charged with assault after performing an operation on a woman in LA without a proper license
August 23, 2024 – LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Cristian Perez Latorre (pictured) 
was charged with assault after posing as a doctor and performing cosmetic surgery on a woman in Los Angeles without proper authorization in July 2021.
“When a person poses as a doctor and performs medical procedures without a license, they not only endanger lives but also undermine the fundamental trust between patients and legitimate health care providers,” said District Attorney Gascón“This act of deception threatens the integrity of our health care system and the public’s trust in those who care for their well-being. We are determined to obtain justice for the victim, hold Mr. Latorre accountable, and restore the trust that has been so gravely violated.”
The case was investigated by the Investigations Division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
“There is no excuse for the unauthorized practice of medicine and it will not be tolerated,” Kathleen Nicholls, director of the Department of Consumer Protection’s investigations division, said“Anyone who breaks the law and endangers the health of others must face the consequences of dangerous and selfish actions. We are grateful to our law enforcement partners and investigators who worked tirelessly on this case.”
Cristian Adrian Perez Latorre (53) is charged in case 24CJCF04337 with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of assault causing serious injury and six counts of practicing medicine without a license.
It is further alleged that Latorre caused serious bodily harm.
On July 13, 2021, Latorre allegedly performed unauthorized cosmetic surgery on a woman. On July 23, 2021, Latorre medically treated the victim for infections resulting from the surgery. On August 13, 2021, Latorre again treated the victim for additional complications related to the surgery.
Latorre was arrested on August 22, 2024 by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation.
If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum sentence of ten years in state prison.
