Kriti Sanon reveals she still has a joint account with her father

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently opened up about her financial background, describing herself as a “true upper-middle class person.” During her appearance on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast ‘WTF is’, Kriti gave insights into her upbringing and stressed that despite coming from a middle-class family, she never felt the pressure of financial instability. Kriti revealed that she still maintains a joint bank account with her father, which underlines her modest approach to finances.

When asked about her choice of film projects, Kriti explained that she now chooses roles based on her interest rather than financial need. “It’s not financial. I would definitely say I’m privileged. I come from a middle-class family but it’s not like I ever felt the need to work because I had to earn money. That wasn’t the case. My parents worked and I never felt the need to. My parents never made me feel like I didn’t have money,” Kriti explained.

About belonging to the “upper middle class” and dealing with finances

Kriti also spoke about the perception of being middle class and the trolling that often accompanies such claims. She clarified, “But I was really… upper middle class, whatever… I was never somebody who was extremely rich and wealthy. But I was also never somebody who was like, ‘No, no, no, I have to do this for money.’ I have a joint account with my dad. I have no idea how much money is coming in and going out. Even today. Now I’ve started saying a little bit, ‘Tell me how much is there.'”
