Mid-Carolina wants to put the injury-plagued 2023 season behind them and get back on their feet in 2024

PROSPERITY, SC — Mid-Carolina is looking to bounce back in 2024 after a 2023 football season plagued by injuries. As the old saying goes, “If you go in with a limp, you’ll come out with a limp.” Despite the difficult season, head coach Chris Arnoult is looking to put that behind him and move on with this young, talented roster.

While the Rebels lost three of their top offensive players from last season, the Prosperity talent pool is strong. Players like Wyatt Mazza played some significant minutes at the college level last season, which should benefit the Mid-Carolina football program going forward.

Not only are the Rebels looking to win more games this season, they’re also looking to get revenge on rival Whitmire. Mid-Carolina’s 22-year winning streak was snapped last season at home in a defensive battle against the Wolverines. This season, they have a chance to head to Whitmire and get revenge.

Speaking of rivals, Mid-Carolina hasn’t beaten its biggest rival, Newberry High School, in football since the 2010 season. They’re sure to want to change that this season.

The Rebels are looking to finally achieve three wins in a season this year, something they haven’t done in nine seasons, and to earn their first playoff win since 2010.

Hopefully the Rebels can get back on track and surpass the 500-win mark this season. They will play the first two games of their 2024 season at home, facing two of their rivals in two of the first three games of the season.
