Former President and Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election Donald Trump has scheduled a rally in Glendale for Friday afternoon, a day after the end of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech accepting the Democratic nomination.

Trump will appear at the Desert Diamond Arena, the same venue where Harris held a rally earlier this month. The event is being co-hosted by conservative groups Turning Point PAC and Turning Point Action.

Arizona is an “emerging problem” for Trump, a longtime political observer recently said, and Trump’s own allies say he should visit the state more often.

Trump visited Arizona’s southern border on Thursday. During a tour along the U.S.-Mexico border, the former president painted a gruesome, violent picture of illegal immigration and used Cochise County as a backdrop for his counter-program on the day the vice president accepted her party’s presidential nomination.

When is Donald Trump’s rally in Glendale?

Trump’s rally in Glendale was scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., according to the former president’s campaign team. Doors will open to attendees at 11 a.m., and “pre-programming” is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., according to Turning Point Action.

Do you need tickets to attend Trump’s rally at Desert Diamond Arena?

Turning Point Action asked people to register for the rally through the Trump campaign website, where people could sign up for two tickets per cell phone number. Attendees will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, Turning Point Action said.

Who will speak at the Trump rally in Glendale?

According to Turning Point Action, several Republican candidates were scheduled to speak at the rally, including Kari Lake, candidate for U.S. Senate, Abe Hamedah, candidate for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, Jerry Sheridan, candidate for Maricopa County Sheriff, Justin Heap, candidate for Maricopa County Clerk, and Shelli Boggs, candidate for Maricopa County Schools Superintendent.

In addition, the Trump team has indicated that an unnamed special guest will give a speech.

The Trump campaign’s announcement on Thursday of an unnamed headliner further fueled ongoing speculation that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to drop out of the race and endorse Trump.

Kennedy, the son of assassinated 1968 Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, was scheduled to appear in Phoenix Friday morning to discuss his “path forward.” The Arizona Secretary of State’s office confirmed to The Arizona Republic late Thursday that Kennedy had requested that his name be removed from Arizona’s Nov. 5 statewide ballot.

When asked about the Kennedy speculation at a border crossing in Arizona on Thursday morning, Trump said there were no plans for Kennedy to appear with him in Glendale.

Are certain items prohibited for rally participants?

Turning Point Action says outside drinks and bags are prohibited in the venue. Food and drinks will be sold in the Desert Diamond Area, with exceptions made for bags needed for medical purposes, the group said.

“More information about what is and is not allowed through the magnetometers will be included in the guidelines sent to registrants on Wednesday evening,” says Turning Point Action’s event page, which advises carpooling due to limited free parking.

How many people can the Desert Diamond Area accommodate?

The Desert Diamond Arena has a capacity of around 19,300 people, according to ASM Global, the site’s manager. Kamala Harris attracted around 15,000 people to her rally there.

Dan Nowicki and Sarah Lapidus participated.
