While the investigation into the attempted assassination of Donald Trump continues, the Secret Service has reportedly placed several agents on leave.

The Secret Service is the federal agency responsible for the security of the president, vice president, and former presidents and vice presidents. The agency has been under fire since the attempted assassination of Trump last month, when a 20-year-old man, Thomas Crooks, shot at Trump from a rooftop during an outdoor rally. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear and he survived.

While the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is conducting an investigation into the attempted assassination, the Secret Service is also conducting an internal investigation into the failures. Independently, the US Congress has also launched an investigation.

Now it has been reported that several agents have been placed on leave, including the special agent in charge of Pittsburgh, whose office was responsible for coordinating with local law enforcement to secure the area around the rally.

Although media outlets such as CBS News and NBC News reported on the incident, there was no official statement from the Secret Service.

Although reports mentioned that several agents were placed on leave, the exact number was not disclosed.

Trump has begun holding outdoor rallies again, holding his first outdoor rally on Thursday as the election cycle picked up steam, as he faces off against Kamala Harris, who took over the Democratic Party baton from Joe Biden last month.
