WyoPreps Preseason Football Tour 2024: Lovell Bulldogs (VIDEO)

The Lovell Bulldogs have been at or near the top of Class 2A football for several years and are looking to climb back to the top. With a good core, Lovell should be a title contender in 2024 behind all-state quarterback Davin Crosby and all-conference player Braxton Felkins.

Lovell was 6-3 last year. They finished second in the 2A West Conference at 4-2 and lost a three-way tiebreaker in playoff seeding. The Bulldogs lost in the first round at Big Horn, 49-28. Lovell was the best passing team in 2A thanks to Crosby. Davin threw for 215 yards per game and helped the Bulldogs have the second-best offense with 360 yards and 32.4 points per game. They still ran for 146 yards per game. Defensively, Lovell struggled in the run game, allowing 203 yards per game, which ranked 11th in the division. They gave up a total of 289 yards and 21.1 points per game. Those are numbers they would like to improve. Felkins will play a key role as he was No. 8 in Class 2A in defensive points per game last year and finished the 2023 season with 99 total tackles.

WyoPreps spoke with Crosby, Felkins and head coach Nicc Crosby after a recent evening practice session to provide an outlook on the 2024 season.
