Kyler Murray: Let people abandon us, I know what we are capable of

The Cardinals have a 4-13 record for two straight seasons and have made the playoffs once in the last eight seasons, so it’s no big surprise that they were hardly predicted to have much success in 2024.

Low expectations are no problem for quarterback Kyler Murray, though. When asked about the slim chances the Cardinals have heading into the season, Murray didn’t argue that people should raise the bar for the team, instead saying “let them sleep” on a team he believes is in a much better position than it has been in recent memory.

“I can understand why” Murray said, via CBSSports.com. “You know, I don’t even feel like I’ve even scratched the surface of what I can do in this league. I’ve been kind of hurt the last season and a half, that’s what it is. In this world, it’s kind of like, what have you done for me lately? We haven’t been winning. So, I understand that, but I’m highly motivated and ready to prove what I can do, what I’m capable of, what this team is capable of. It’s the ultimate team sport, and I’m ready to go. And this team is definitely ready to go.”

Rookie wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. played a major role in Murray’s argument for why the team can exceed expectations this season, and the partnership between the two players will have a major impact on the team’s prospects for success this fall.
