Shirley A. White Perine, 88, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield.

She was born on September 17, 1935 in Rossiter, PA, the daughter of the late Anna (Sweka) and Fred Wascovich.

Shirley was first married to Orin White and then married Frank J. Perine, who predeceased her.

Shirley attended Rossiter High School and then worked as a secretary at the State Capital in Harrisburg and then at the offices of Riverside Markets in Dubois. She attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Punxsutawney.

She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and attending her grandson Eric’s college football games and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Shirley also loved being home and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind four children: son Cloyd F. White and wife Barbara of Cartersville, VA; daughter Holly L. Davis and husband Ed of Punxsutawney; son Michael O. White and wife Lisa of Boiling Springs, PA; and son Edward J. White and wife Sharon of Clearfield; eight grandchildren: Kelly Barlow and husband Mark, Becky Hughes and husband Brian, Dustin Davis and wife Megan, Isaac C. White and wife Nikki, Jesse White and wife Heidi, Levi White and fiancée Emilie Barrick, Kayla Caragein and husband Myles, and Eric White and wife Sydney; nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Renosky and husband Joe; one brother, Fred G. Wascovich; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and other family and dear friends whom she loved dearly.

Her husbands and parents as well as her sister-in-law Eleanor Wascovich had already died before her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Jones officiating.

Burial will take place at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
