LeBron James’ cocky trait could open the doors to Team USA for Bronny and Bryce despite public outrage, Media Vet says

LeBron James’ cocky trait could open the doors to Team USA for Bronny and Bryce despite public outrage, Media Vet says

When Bronny James got his spot on the Los Angeles Lakers alongside his legendary father LeBron James, the NBA community spoke of nepotism. And no matter how much the front office justified Bronny James’ second-round draft pick, it could be a result of nepotism. However, a section of the NBA community supported this fact, as the 19-year-old has innate potential. Recently, Fox Sports analysts went a step further and made a guess about Bronny’s future in the NBA and on the world stage.

In a discussion about the 2028 LA Olympics and the future NBA, Fox analyst Veejay Huskey stated: “If LeBron has any power on Team USA Basketball, … in 2028, Bryce and … if Bronny is a viable NBA player, … if you think LeBron doesn’t have the stuff and the influence for Team USA, isn’t he going to bring his son on Team USA? Come on, man! So that would be another, you know, feather in his cap.” The assumption was so far-fetched that even Huskey’s co-host Martin Weiss had to jump in between statements to deny the possibility. But Huskey did not stop at his assumption.

He also explained his belief in LeBron James when Huskey stepped in: “All I’m saying is, the guy is powerful and likes to grab hold of everything. I’m not criticizing him… If it was my son, I’d do the same thing. I’ve always been on that side of the LeBron-Bronny debate.” This is probably why Fox analysts suspected the James siblings.

Do you think that LeBron James’ influence unfairly opens doors for Bronny and Bryce?

Still, that claim is far-fetched right now, considering Bryce isn’t even in the NBA yet. But since it was likely the last Olympics for her father LeBron James, who will be wearing the main roster jerseys in 2028?

If not LeBron James or his sons, who has a chance to make the US team at the 2028 Olympics?

When it comes to planning for the next gold, analyst Huskey had no idea what the next Team USA might look like. However, Martin had an opinion on the matter, saying: “Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis and Devin Booker.” However, Weiss later realized that AD was already 31 years old. Given the Lakers star’s injury problems, he might not fit well into the next team. So he later added the Paris Olympics alternates to his list. These included Tyrese Haliburton and Derrick White.

Martin not only limited himself to the starting line-up, but also named the substitutes, “Yes Morant, maybe Cooper Flagg, Paolo Banchero, … Chet Holmgren.” Most notably, Cooper Flagg is the presumed number 1 pick for the 2025 draft, and Paolo Banchero is coming off a great season, averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists, so these talents will definitely be an asset at the upcoming Olympic Games.

There won’t be as many superstars as there were this time at the Paris Olympics, but change is the law of nature. And after what the Dream Team 2.0 and LeBron James have done for their country, all athletes deserve a nice break. Who would you like to add to the 2028 starting list? Let us know in the comments.
