“What a night for Kamala Harris”

“What a night for Kamala Harris”

The late-night host also addressed speculation about a performance by Beyoncé

Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president last night at the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago, but not without a comment from Republican candidate Donald Trump. Jon Stewart commented on this on his show The daily show live from the DNC and ultimately concluded that Trump had “turned into a poor man’s pile of cats.”

In the episode, Stewart first addressed fans’ disappointment that Beyoncé did not appear at the convention. He joked that there would be a special guest and showed a clip of Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin at the DNC. “They thought it was Beyoncé because everyone thought Beyoncé was going to appear there, but it was Slotkin the whole time,” Steward confirmed. “Everyone knew.”

Stewart reviewed Harris’ speech, noting how great it was that we finally got to meet “the communist Kamala, the radical we’ve heard so much about.” He added, “If I were Donald Trump right now, I’d probably just tweet nonsense to distract from the fact that she doesn’t even remotely resemble the caricature that was drawn. That’s exactly what he’s doing, by the way.”

The late-night host then presented Trump’s tweets, including “Walz was an assistant coach, not a coach” and “IS SHE TALKING ABOUT ME?” “I swear to God, the Republican presidential candidate has turned into a poor man’s pile of shit,” Stewart responded.

Elsewhere on The daily showthe Best F**king News Team, including Jordan Klepper, voiced his opinion on the DNC’s “small town values.”

The show also enlisted Jason Bateman to narrate a clip about Harris being “normal.” The clip featured several memorably odd moments from the Trump campaign and outgoing President Joe Biden before Bateman noted that it was time for America to return to normal after “generally feeling like we were trapped in a sadistic circus in the eighth circle of hell. It’s time for Kamala Harris. Just normal.”
