FORT LAUDERDALE – Police said they have arrested a man in connection with the bizarre case of a woman found shot to death on the side of a road in Broward County.
Hallandale police said they charged 21-year-old Omar Simpson on Wednesday with the murder of Mikesha Johnson, 22who was found with a gunshot wound to the chest near the border between Hollywood and Hallandale Beach in early March.
At approximately 4 a.m. on March 5, Hallandale police were called to a reported unconscious and injured woman who had been dropped off by a vehicle on the side of the road on Pembroke Road. Upon arrival, officers found Johnson with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police attempted to save her life while she waited for paramedics, but she died at the scene.
After further investigation, investigators learned that Simpson and Johnson had met earlier that evening at a house party, police told CBS News Miami. They identified him as the perpetrator.
