What led to Ayesha Takia’s departure from Instagram?
On August 19, the actress shared a picture in which she is seen in a blue and gold sari and delicate pink makeup. Her followers were horrified by her new look and found her “unrecognisable”. Some also questioned in the comments section if it was a plastic surgery gone wrong. One Instagram user wrote, “No way this Ayesha Takia.” They wrote, “I know she has had plastic surgery and have seen her post-surgery too. But this post of hers just randomly popped up on my Instagram Explore feed and I couldn’t even recognise her.” Another quipped, “This is a real photo? How on earth?”
The actress refused to answer the questions and deleted her profile shortly afterwards.
Takia’s Instagram profile now says: “Sorry, this page is unavailable.”
This is far from the first time that the ‘Dor’ actress has been targeted for her looks. In February 2024, the actress was brutally trolled after pictures of her with her son at the Mumbai airport went viral on social media.
The actress later spoke TrollsOn her Instagram profile, she announced that she was in Goa due to a personal emergency.
“I must say this, I rushed to Goa two days ago… There was a medical emergency in my family… My sister was literally in the hospital. In the midst of all this, I remember being stopped by paparazzi and basically posing for them for just a few seconds before flying off. Turns out there are no other important issues in this country other than dissecting my looks,” she wrote.
She hit back at her critics and urged them to get over them as she is not interested in returning to the film business anytime soon. “I have been bombarded with ridiculous opinions going viral about how people think I should have looked and I don’t. Get over me buddy, I have no interest in acting in films or making a comeback as people say. I live my life happily, never want to be in the limelight, am not interested in fame, don’t want to act in any film… So keep calm. Don’t bother with me,” she quipped.
