“The Batman Part II” receives an exciting update from the author – News about comic and superhero films

Co-author for Batman – Part II gave an exciting update on the upcoming film and praised Matt Reeves for his work on the project and the films overall.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Mattson Tomlin – who is uncredited as the writer of the original The Batman and co-writer of the sequel – hinted that filming on the sequel to 2022’s The Batman is set to begin next year and that behind the scenes there is already great anticipation for the upcoming film.

“Filming will take place next year. We are preparing and I would say the bar couldn’t be higher,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin also praised director Matt Reeves, saying he is a “true artist” who creates something special and that he is grateful to be a part of it.

“It’s a sequel to the first one,” he continued. “But Matt (Reeves) is also unique. In the five years that I’ve worked so closely with him, I’ve tried to absorb as much of him as I can, and I’m so grateful for the time I get to spend with him, because he’s a true artist working in a world where art sometimes can’t thrive, and he’s trying to create something that’s really important. Just being there and being part of that process is pretty incredible, pretty amazing. I’m really excited about the film.”

What do we know about Batman Part II?

Little is known about the plot of The Batman Part II, but Robert Pattinson is set to return as the titular Dark Knight. The first film hinted at the Joker and left the Riddler alive in Arkham, so one or both of these iconic antagonists could return. Just last month, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn debunked a rumor about who the villains in the sequel might be, as well as the possible introduction of Dick Grayson/Robin.

The first film, The Batman, stars Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon of the GCPD, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham DA Gil Colson, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Ferrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin.
