Fox’s Peter Doocy is rebuked by DNC attendees

Fox News correspondent Peter Dooley tried to speak to attendees of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday evening, but his attempt did not go well.

While other participants offered Doocy a friendly audience this week, one man was quite cold towards the reporter. Jesse Watters Primetimehost Jesse Watters Cut to Doocy on the Congress floor, a few hours before the Vice President Kamala Harris was to give her acceptance speech for the presidential nomination.

“The headliner tonight will be Vice President Harris,” Doocy noted. He then addressed a group of attendees who were seated and listening to a speech. There was speculation about a later appearance by a celebrity guest, and shortly before Doocy’s live appearance, TMZ reported that Beyonce would carry out.

Here’s how Doocy’s exchange went:

DOOCY: Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt. Do you know which celebrities are coming tonight?

WOMAN: We have the chicks performing.

DOOCY: The chicks.

WOMAN: And pink.

DOOCY: Pink!

WOMAN: Pink will perform.

DOOCY: Is Beyoncé coming?

MANN: This is a serious Congress. It’s about issues. It’s about issues. It’s about America.

DOOCY: Are you going to go backstage and tell them to tell the celebrities not to come out, or should I do that?
You should tell them that.

MAN: You are. You should tell them that

DOOCY: So you don’t want Beyoncé to come out?

MAN: You must not do that.

DOOCY: No, no, no. OK, sorry, OK. It’s fine, it’s fine. OK. We’ll move on. We’ll move on. So there’s a debate about the effectiveness of celebrity endorsements down here with the Ohio delegation, Jesse.

WATTERS: (Laughs) They got scolded! That was fun.

DOOCY: That’s why we’re here.

WATTERS: I guess a lot of people enjoyed seeing that.

For Doocy, it was already the second small obstacle at the party convention. On Wednesday, a party employee gave him incorrect information about what the signs meant for the vice presidential candidate. Tim Walz would say.
