Baldur’s Gate 3 player manages to survive Act 1 without a single break

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player managed to explore and survive Act 1 without a single short or long break. Here’s how he did it.

If you’re drenched in blood and have run out of spell slots in Baldur’s Gate 3, the next thing you should ideally do is take a short or long rest. After all, managing your rests in the game is important for replenishing your health and recharging certain actions.

Not to mention, resting for long periods of time allows you to unlock dialogue in the camp and advance love scenes. In some ways, it can be hard to imagine continuing to fight without using this key mechanic. But apparently one player managed to pull it off – exploring Act 1 of the game without a single rest, as reported in a Reddit thread.

One user explained that his brother was “teleported somewhere” when he tried to take the Mountain Pass route after exploring the Netherrealm and “he didn’t know what to do.” Apparently, he wasn’t even aware that you can rest in the game.

Baldur's Gate 3 Scratches

If you skip long breaks in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can miss a lot.

“This motherfucker somehow survived the entire damn first act by, and I’m not kidding, ‘sticking around and dousing everyone with healing potions,'” the user explained. They also used scrolls on Gale and scavenged for ingredients and brewed healing potions.

“The guy found out that you can do alchemy, but not that you can restore your health by resting for a short time. He had never heard of the game; it’s not his type. I just recommended that he play it. Balanced difficulty, but still.”

Players were stunned in the comments; some felt sorry for the player because they missed romance and interactions in the camp in Act 1. However, a portion of them admitted that something similar happened to them once because of the way things are presented in the game.

“RIP his chances of wooing one of the companions,” one user commented. However, another player assured that Lae’zel would “still be bouncing around with him” in the game.

Some couldn’t help but poke fun at the situation. “I wonder how many times they had to listen to the different characters say, ‘Could really use a nap,'” joked one player.

Another mentioned that something very similar happened to him when he first played the game: “I thought a lot of things were time-sensitive and the progression of days would have negative effects.”

Regardless, players praised the dedication of the player who was able to do such a thing and assured him that his next playthrough would be much better “with all the new story elements.”
