Labor Day Parades at QCA

QUAD CITIES, Iowa and Illinois (KWQC) – Summer is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!

Here are several Labor Day parades that will be taking place throughout the QCA.

In East Moline

“The Quad City Labor Day Parade in East Moline is always an official, unionized Labor Day Parade for Quad City residents,” said event organizers. “The parade is represented by various labor organizations, high school marching bands, elected officials, social service agencies, clubs and entertainment companies from the Quad Cities.”

  • When: On the morning of September 2nd at 11am
  • Where: The parade leaves the John Deere Harvester Works parking lot, travels down 15th Avenue, then continues to 3rd Street and crosses the railroad tracks where the parade ends.
  • WHO: Grand Marshal is Sister Sheri Camahan, retired member of AFSCME Council 61, Local 3011

“It’s always nice when family and friends come together to watch the different entries in our parade,” said Dan Gosa, president of the Quad City Federation of Labor and the Great River Area Labor Federation. “The smiles of the little children are the best part.”

In Rock Island

The City of Rock Island is hosting a Labor Day Parade. This will be the 40th annual parade.

  • When: Sept. 2 from 9:30 am
  • Where: At 18th Avenue and 33rd Street in Rock Island
