Job overview

The Account Manager travels throughout the region to increase sales and volume at assigned on-site accounts to achieve monthly business goals. The Account Manager builds relationships with on-site accounts by soliciting orders from retail accounts, planning and executing promotional events, and handling customer service requests from retail accounts.

Daily tasks, functions and responsibilities:

  • Promote sales to a variety of clients, including liquor stores, bars and restaurants.
  • Find and establish new accounts in your area.
  • Meet with buyers regularly and be present in person for all accounts.
  • Focus your work on meeting your monthly targets for total sales and new customers
  • Keep an eye on current and new products and their prices.
  • Assist the accounting department by communicating with accounts regarding balances and payments due. Collect payments from accounts as requested or required.
  • Monitor and respond to all communications in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Maintain an up-to-date contact list and notes for all accounts.
  • Public tastings and industry events as needed. These events may take place on weekends or outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Must have reliable auto transportation, acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and have auto insurance coverage
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Focus on win-win relationships with customers, team and management
  • Very good planning and organization
  • High level of personal performance responsibility
  • Must be willing to travel within the assigned region
  • Willingness to work on weekends and holidays (as required)

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to pull/push a load of up to 170 pounds.
  • Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placing of products weighing up to 77 kg.
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
