The cast has been announced for Show and tellAlan Ayckbourn’s 90th play, running at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough from 5 September to 5 October.

Performed in the 86th year of Ayckbourn, Show and tell is a celebration of theatre – a dark farce that lifts the veil of the performances we experience every day.

The five-person cast includes Bill Champion, Paul Kemp, Frances Marshall, Richard Stacey and Olivia Woolhouse.

Set and costume design are by Kevin Jenkins.

Jack is planning a big party for his wife’s birthday; he has booked a touring theatre company to perform in the main hall of the family home. The only problem is that Jack is getting a bit forgetful in his old age and cannot remember all the details of the booking.

Meanwhile, the Homelight Theatre Company is down and out and desperately needs a well-paid gig. Jack’s booking is very well-paid. But it’s been difficult to pin him down on the details: something doesn’t seem quite right…

After Scarborough, the show moves on to the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness on Windermere (8-12 October) and the New Vic in Newcastle-under-Lyme (15-26 October).
