The AI weather report tells you how to prepare for the day ahead. The summary also tells you what to expect when you step outside. Think about how much time you’ll save if you get ready in the morning, open the app, and see something like “Cold and rainy day, bring your umbrella and hold on to your hat!” instead of checking precipitation percentages, temperatures expected for the day, humidity, and more.

Of course, you have to consider the possibility that the AI is hallucinating. In that case, you could quickly lose the umbrella and raincoat you’re wearing if you go outside on a sunny, 27-degree day. The AI weather report is provided by Gemini Nano and since it works on the device, you don’t need an internet connection for it to work. Not only will you be reminded to take an umbrella on a day when rain is forecast, but you’ll also be reminded to apply sunscreen when hot, sunny weather arrives.
If you would rather pretend you are a highly paid meteorologist creating today’s weather forecast using the raw data from your favorite weather app, you can disable AI Weather Report at any time by going to Saved locations > user > AI weather report and tap Turn off.
The Pixel Weather app is for the new Pixels 9 series and reports say the app will also be coming to older Pixel models in a future feature drop. And if older Pixel models get the Pixel Weather app, the AI Weather Report could be included as well. To reiterate, there is speculation that the Weather app and AI Weather Report will be included in a future Pixel feature drop. Sorry, Froggy is no longer part of the app.
