Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is known for his diverse interests off the court, and his latest venture is a foray into the world of music.
The MVP of the 2024 NBA Finals has teamed up with hip-hop artist A$AP Ferg for his new single “Just Do It” and released the music video on Thursday evening after previously teasing it:
Brown later posted a clip from an old interview with A$AP Ferg, where he was asked which NBA player he would like to have on a song with him. The hip-hop artist quickly responded with Brown because he “got the fuss.”
Additionally, Brown posted on X that he was having “a great summer” despite not making the U.S. Olympic squad:
Of course, “Just Do It” has long been Nike’s slogan, so it seems like Brown wanted to send a message with his single.
After it was announced that Brown’s Celtics teammate Derrick White would fill Kawhi Leonard’s spot on the U.S. team’s roster for the Paris Olympics, Brown criticized Nike in a tweet, saying the shoe brand influenced the decision:
Jaylen Brown @FCHWPO
@nike is that what we do?
After leading the Boston Celtics to their 18th NBA title, the 27-year-old has taken time to enjoy the summer. He recently spent time on vacation in Bahrain, where he showed his underwater workouts.
All signs point to Brown being ready for an even bigger year with the Celtics in 2024-25, and the upcoming release of his new single is a sign that he’s ready to show the world more sides of himself both on and off the court.
