When fans think of the late actor Gary Coleman, they often remember the star’s portrayal of 8-year-old Arnold Jackson from the series Different strokes.

The former child actor became an instant star when he appeared on the NBC sitcom in the late ’60s, thanks in large part to his famous catchphrase, “Watcha talkin’ ’bout Willis.” For nearly 10 years, viewers welcomed Arnold and the rest of the Jacksons into their home until the popular sitcom ended in 1986. Despite the show’s end, Coleman continued to be considered a child star.

Well, the peacock documentary GARY aims to show viewers a different side of Coleman, who was shaped by one of his very first acting roles. In addition to looking back at his illustrious career, the documentary will explore “his struggle with fame and the controversy surrounding his tragic death at the age of 42,” according to a press release from the streamer.

And “for the first time, viewers will experience Coleman’s private world through exclusive interviews with his acting colleagues, industry insiders and his divorced ex-wife and parents,” the press release states. The documentary premieres on Thursday, August 29. It is 90 minutes long and includes previously unpublished interviews with Coleman’s friends and family.
