Video shows arrest of suspect in kidnapping of 4-year-old boy and his mother

ROSWELL, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Forsyth County police dashcam video shows the arrest of a man accused of kidnapping a 4-year-old Roswell boy and his mother.

A Levi’s Call, Georgia’s Amber Alert, was issued for the four-year-old child and his mother in Roswell early Wednesday morning.

Video shows Forsyth County Sheriff’s officers pursuing the suspect, 40-year-old Brian Betenia. Officers said he had the 4-year-old boy and his mother in his vehicle.

Officers reportedly pursued Betenia at speeds of 70 miles per hour before popping his tires with a spike strip. He was arrested after being pursued on foot.

Roswell police said Betenia was charged with kidnapping and two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material in connection with a previous, ongoing agency investigation.

They said he had already been arrested in July on 12 additional counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.

Forsyth officials said he also faces several charges in connection with the Levi’s call and the chase, including fleeing from a felony, reckless driving, driving under the influence, endangering a child while under the influence, pedestrian strike, obstruction, open container of alcohol, tire regulations, improper lane change, speeding and reckless conduct.
