Although a little more slippery than her Emily in Paris Role, Park takes audiences on a wonderfully entertaining and emotional adventure through China as Audrey Sullivan in Adele Lim’s comedy Joyride. Audrey, a Chinese adoptee, uses a business opportunity as an opportunity to track down her birth mother in China. Although it turns out to be a huge, epic task, Audrey doesn’t go it alone, but enlists the help of her hilarious friends Kat, Lolo and Vanessa. Most of all, Mindy fans will enjoy Park, who stands out from the crowd. Joy Ride’s in a leading role that is not limited by a secondary character arc.

Joyride definitely deserves its age rating as it is full of strong and vulgar sexual content, swearing, drugs and explicit nudity. The film ramps up its rude jokes and gags, and while they may take some getting used to for some, they add tremendous fun during Audrey’s girls’ trip and highlight Park’s talent for comedy. Park has a history of comedic roles in films and television series, such as 2014 Are you kidding?the sitcom Nightcapand Peacock’s Girl5eva, but none was as unreserved and stirring as her role in Joyride.
