Colorado Football X-Account gets the final word on the ‘Darts Only’ meme he created

The official X-Account of the Colorado football program had the final word on the “Darts only” meme it created when it shared an edited clip of a touchdown throw from Shedeur Sanders to LaJohntay Wester during fall camp – and the final word was actually just “Darts only” with the word “Literally” in front of it.

After the Buffs started the trend, other programs also jumped on the bandwagon. Arkansas was one of the firstbut it has expanded to nationwide programs and even the PGA Tour.

Of course, other programs joked that Shedeur’s throw didn’t result in Wester’s touchdown at the original post, but that wasn’t true. They showed two different camera angles of the same play.

Colorado left little doubt this time and showed a single shot in which Sanders made a layup with Wester.

That should put an end to this dull discussion about whether a social media team is intentionally deceiving the masses. No, Colorado didn’t do that. But they were pressured enough that they felt the need to release another video with an almost identical caption.

Before there was “Darts only”, there was a ridiculous rumor literally invented by Paul Finebaum that Deion Sanders was a potential successor to Lincoln Riley at USC. Yes, the same Riley who brought Caleb Williams from Oklahoma to Los Angeles and helped lead to a Heisman win in 2022.

There is also the bomb Athlon Sport Report that suggested Coach Prime was aware of and even responsible for the chaotic locker room, fights and gun culture. This has not been proven or disproven, but a lawsuit could certainly clear things up.

It’s been, as predicted, a busy offseason for the Buffs from a narrative perspective, and that should only increase later this month and in the fall when games actually take place.
