I am not aware of any indication anywhere in the Bible that we can no longer distinguish between the seasons.
In Matthew 16, the Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tried to test him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. They had already seen Jesus perform many miracles, such as feeding the five thousand, and really did not need another sign to prove that he was the Son of God. At the wedding at Cana, Jesus performed his first miracle. None of the miracles Jesus performed were done for convenience; they all pointed to the fact that he was the Son of God.
In Matthew 16, Christ refers to the weather and uses it as an analogy for them. He told them that you can tell the weather by the state of the sky, but not the signs of the times. He told them that they were hypocrites.
We are not looking for signs, but listening for the sound of the trumpet at the rapture of the church, when we will be caught up into heaven to be with him.
Jesus was not speaking to Christians in this passage, nor was he saying that in the end times we would not be able to predict the weather, but he was speaking to the Pharisees and Sadducees who were asking for a sign and drawing an analogy to them.
