DUBOIS – A DuBois man faces up to three years in prison for stealing a gun in late February.

Rhett Donavan Eisman, 32, of DuBois, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft by unauthorized taking in connection with an incident on February 21.

In late February, police received a call from a residence in Sandy Township. The victim told officers that he and his father had been missing for three hours. During that time, someone broke into the house and stole several firearms.

He showed police that someone had searched their belongings and that several firearms were missing, including a Remington flintlock rifle, some black powder, a Winchester rifle, and a single-shot pellet-style air rifle, valued at a total of $1,650.

At that time, a neighbor noticed a suspicious vehicle and took photos of the silver Jeep.

The next day, police noticed that the Jeep was driving erratically and that there were several long guns in the front and back of the vehicle.

After a traffic stop, Eisman and a woman in the vehicle were arrested and the Jeep was towed to the police parking lot.

Eisman admitted to police that he drove to the residence, went inside and took the items.

He only gave the police the first names of the other two people involved and stated that he would “take responsibility for the crime”.

He now faces one to three years in state prison. Eisman’s attorney requested that he serve his sentence in the Clearfield County Jail, where he has been held since February.
