Speaking on the podcast, Svar said: “There are reports that even after his death, Andrew intends to pass his lease on to Beatrice and Eugenie.

“Whether that’s something Beatrice and Eugenie would be interested in is a whole different matter.

“They are very sedentary and it would also mean that they would be drawn into this royal feud.

“But if that is his intention, then it means he plans to finish out his time at the Royal Lodge and then cause further trouble for King Charles in this sordid feud.”

The King has asked the Duke of York to move out of Royal Lodge and into a smaller property, with Frogmore Cottage being seen as the most likely option.

P.A.

Andrew is said to have refused to give in, and he is not obliged to vacate the Royal Lodge as the lease he signed in 2003 still has five decades to run.

The Duke of York probably originally wanted to pass the lease on to his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who currently lives with him in the royal residence. However, due to a clause in the agreement with the Crown Estate, this is not possible.

Cameron added: “The other problem could be that the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, his ex-wife, also lives at Royal Lodge.

“And moving from a 30-bedroom house to a cottage where, you know, you might be in the same room all the time or forced to be in the same living room.

“Will this cause problems? I think we’ll find out.”

The remaining term of the lease is 54 years and Andrew plans to comply with the terms of the agreement.

The Duke of York currently hopes to pass the lease on to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

This would mean that they can use the property after his death for the remaining years of the agreement.
