Rapper Travis Scott was released from prison in Paris after being arrested for allegedly attacking a hotel security guard.

The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that no charges would be brought against Scott because the crime was not sufficiently characterized, Variety reported.

According to local media reports, Scott and one of his bodyguards were fighting near the hotel when the security guard intervened. Police were called to the hotel at 5 a.m. local time on Friday to break up the fight.

In a statement to Variety, a spokesperson for Scott said: “We are in direct contact with local Paris authorities to resolve this matter quickly and will provide updates as needed.”

A source close to the rapper said he got into an argument with his bodyguard about his safety because he had been “followed and harassed by paparazzi” for several days and had received no help.

The source said no injuries were reported.

According to Variety, Scott was arrested back in June for drunkenness and trespassing following an altercation on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida. He was released on bail after paying a $500 fine for drunkenness and trespassing and a $150 citation for trespassing.

Scott has been in Europe for some time now and was recently spotted at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

A few days ago, he wrapped up the European leg of his Circus Maximus tour, which has seen him play arenas across North America and Europe, including a recent performance at the 62,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur football stadium in London.
