FreshRealm creates 300 jobs in Georgia

FreshRealm, Inc., a national leader in fresh meal delivery, will expand its presence in Montezuma, Georgia. This latest project will create more than 300 new jobs through a $6.3 million investment in Macon County. FreshRealm is a food-as-a-service company that provides a nationwide, end-to-end platform optimized for fresh food. FreshRealm’s solutions span multiple segments of the food industry, serving customers and partners in grocery, foodservice, hospitality, direct sales, medical meal delivery and more.

Montezuma is a great location for us to strategically reach the entire U.S., especially the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast,” said Snow Le, President of FreshRealm. “We are proud to expand our operations in Georgia, a state with great financial strength and a clear commitment to business and community.”

“Macon County has a long history with an established presence in the food industry and the Macon County Development Authority has worked diligently to continue that tradition,” said Johnny Brooks, chairman of the Macon County Development Authority. “We are excited about FreshRealm’s expansion and welcome the opportunities it presents for Montezuma and Macon County.”

Senior Project Manager Christy Bozeman represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce team on this competitive project in partnership with the Development Authority of Macon County, Georgia Power and Georgia Quick Start.

ProLift Rigging opens new hub in greater Atlanta

ProLift Rigging Company, a leading provider of solution-focused industrial construction services, has announced the official opening of a new lifting facility in Georgia serving the Greater Atlanta metropolitan area and surrounding areas. ProLift Atlanta is a full-service location with 155,000 square feet of secure indoor storage, buffering and integration space. ProLift Rigging Atlanta also maintains a diverse collection of specialized heavy-lift equipment including cranes of varying capacities, gantry cranes, forklifts, Versalifts, hydraulic jacks and under-hook engineered rigging systems. The facility also offers a full portfolio of industrial services including traditional crane and heavy-lift rigging, machinery relocation, heavy over-the-road transport and secure indoor and outdoor storage.

“Atlanta is an important addition to our national branch network,” commented Jesse Taylor, President and CEO of ProLift Rigging Company. “Our new location gives ProLift the ability to provide strategic and scalable support to our national customers and assist them with local projects in Georgia.”

The Atlanta location is the 13th full-service location in ProLift’s North American network. As a central location, the Atlanta location has field service personnel and equipment that can be deployed to projects in South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and southern Tennessee. Atlanta is also home to ProLift’s team of regional project managers and engineers.

Aertssen Logistics opens new processing and logistics facility in Savannah

Heavy equipment manufacturers that transport their cargo through the Georgia Ports Authority have a new option for processing and logistics services in the Savannah area.

“We are proud to welcome Aertssen Logistics to the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick,” said Griff Lynch, President and CEO of the Georgia Ports Authority. “Their new location in Effingham County will allow them to significantly expand their logistics business model and provide the region with value-added services for our respective customers.”

Belgium-based Aertssen Logistics is establishing itself in the United States with an international logistics location in Rincon, Georgia, 14 miles from the Garden City Terminal of the Port of Savannah. The Equipment Processing Center (EPC) serves manufacturers of agricultural, mining and construction equipment.

Company officials said the site offers land for future expansion, a strong local workforce, strategic highways and quick access to the Port of Savannah’s more than 35 weekly connections to global markets.

The Equipment Processing Center offers comprehensive logistics services, indoor and outdoor storage, and various customized engineering services. Its strategic location near the Port of Savannah, a major hub for the Southeastern United States, makes the 35-acre facility an ideal logistics center.

Aertssen Logistics has partnered with private investor The Broe Group to develop the operations center in the Savannah area. The location will enable faster and more efficient service to its North American customers.

The Equipment Processing Center manages the complete outsourcing of logistics activities, including machine inspections, repairs, technical services and complete assembly. With its three European locations, Aertssen Logistics now prepares over 30,000 machines per year for delivery to end customers in the mechanical engineering industry worldwide.

The first machines arrived at the Georgia site at the end of May and the collaboration with various partners is progressing towards further expansion.
