When traveling through an airport, you need to allow extra time for the unexpected!
Our team has flown hundreds of times for vacation or work, and we’ve encountered all kinds of problems—from weather-related delays to flight breakdowns. But if you’re flying through Orlando International Airport today, we have a warning for you!
According to Eric Burrus of WESH Orlando, Orlando International Airport (MCO) has officially imposed a ground stop, meaning flight delays will quickly pile up.
Attention, ground stop, just issued for @MCO. Delays will quickly occur … pic.twitter.com/Tc0SyRUiiD

This stop is due to thunderstorms in the region and causes an average flight delay of 60 minutes. If the storms do not subside quickly, this number could increase.
We’ll be on the lookout for any changes or updates from specific airlines, so stay tuned to AllEars. The ground stop is expected to end at 4:30 p.m. ET. The best thing you can do now is wait patiently for updates on your flight and download your airline’s app for news.
For those near Disney World, we’ve seen dark clouds coming in. If you’re in the parks, be weather prepared with your ponchos and maybe plan to head indoors for a while!
