Queen Elizabeth didn’t just troll Donald Trump – she also took down Vladimir Putin

The late Queen Elizabeth II was so scrupulously secretive that the very rare times she let slip her own opinions about people, places and things, they made front-page news.

The same is true even after her death. News feeds around the world were dominated this week by reports that, after Donald Trump visited her in 2018 or 2019, she told a friend over lunch that she found him “very rude” and speculated damningly that he must have had “some kind of arrangement” with his wife, Melania.

This claim was made in a new biography of the late Queen published in the Daily Mailwritten by well-connected society journalist Craig Brown. The new account of the Queen’s life, which relies heavily on anecdotes, is titled A journey around the Queen.

Now comes news of another wonderful rebuff from the King: Brown reported that blind British politician David Blunkett told him that his assistance dog barked angrily at Vladimir Putin when he arrived late for a state event in 2003.

Blunkett said he apologised to the Queen, who replied: “Dogs have interesting instincts, don’t they?”

Meanwhile, a former Buckingham Palace employee has denied the allegations regarding her comments about Trump.

Former royal Jack Stooks told GB News: “We know what kind of person the Queen was. We know she never made a mistake during her reign. She wouldn’t do something like that. It’s just ridiculous.”

“There are so many ways such rumours can arise, but I simply cannot understand why the Queen would have done such a thing, or even be inclined to do it.

“I don’t understand why people think it’s in any way okay to try to destroy the late Queen’s lifestyle.

“She’s been incredible throughout her career. And for someone to try to stoke the flames is not right, especially for the monarchy at the moment. They’re dealing with so much.”
