Agent William Baron (Anthony Michael Hall) prepared to continue his vendetta against Bosch and Chandler, although the case was dropped due to Chandler’s top-notch legal work. Bosch: Legacy At the end of Season 2, fans wondered if Mo Bassi would turn against Bosch and Chandler after Baron arrested him following an undercover operation and offered him a deal if the tech-savvy hacker would turn against his employers.
Everything was prepared for Bosch: Legacy Season 3 will focus on Agent Baron’s ongoing investigation into Maurice “Mo” Bassi, Bosch, and Chandler, but Anthony Michael Hall’s exit from the role has raised doubts as to whether that particular plot point will resurface in any meaningful way. There’s a chance a new character will be introduced to continue Baron’s investigation, but that would be a shame since Hall was so good in the role and so much was set up for his character. It might be a better idea to suspend the FBI investigation, Bosch: Legacy Season 3 and focusing on other important developments.
2025 is a big year for Bosch: Legacy The series is evolving into a full-fledged television universe, with Renee Ballard appearing earlier than expected in Season 3 before her own spin-off series airs later in the year. It might be too much for Bosch: Legacy to continue the FBI investigation while preparing the spin-off series, and also focus on other important action points.

The consequences of Kurt Dockweiler’s murder
The big cliffhanger at the end of Bosch: Legacy In season 2, Preston Borders returned, a villain from the original Bosch series that Harry Bosch was responsible for imprisoning. Maddie intercepts a collect call from Borders at Wasco St. Prison and he tells her that Harry Bosch ordered the murder of Kurt Dockweiler. Maddie confronts her father about it and the season ends, setting up season three to expand the storyline. It will be important to unpack that while also focusing on setting up the other stories of the upcoming season.
The new cases
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 is based in part on Michael Connelly’s book “The Black Ice,” in which Harry Bosch investigates the case of a mysterious new drug doing the rounds in Los Angeles, which originates from the Mexican cartel. The private investigator investigates the connection between the drug and the death of a drug agent. The case sounds like it could be one of the most exciting yet for Harry Bosch, as it takes him across the border and into a very precarious situation. Bosch: Legacy Season 3 must reconcile this case with Renee Ballard’s investigation, with Connelly’s book, Desert Starwhich also serve as inspiration for the coming season.
Honey Chandler’s candidacy for District Attorney
In addition to the investigation of the allegations in the murder of Kurt Dockweiler and the two cases that Bosch: Legacy Season 3 also raises the question of what Chandler will do when she becomes a prosecutor. Chandler is co-lead actress in Bosch: Legacy next to Maddie and Harry Bosch, so the storyline concerning Chandler’s candidacy for the position of major prosecutor should take precedence over the FBI investigation about her involvement in the murder of Carl Rogers. If she becomes district attorney, she’ll likely have the power to derail any FBI investigation anyway, so it might be best to revisit that storyline in a later season when Chandler may no longer have the support of the district attorney’s office.
