Louisville opens Battle 4 Atlantis 2024 against Indiana

The standings for Battle 4 Atlantis 2024 in the Bahamas were released on Wednesday and Louisville will begin the event against a familiar opponent.

In the first game of the tournament, the Cards will face Indiana. The game will take place on Wednesday, November 27th at 12 p.m. ESPN will televise the game.

Louisville has a 4-2 overall record in the Battle 4 Atlantis, losing the 2012 championship game to Duke and the 2016 title game to Baylor.

Here is the full list for this year’s Thanksgiving week:

If Louisville beats Indiana, it will face the winner of the West Virginia-Gonzaga game at 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving. If the Cards lose on the first day, they will face the loser of the same game at noon the next day.

U of L trails IU 12-9 overall. The Cards had won four straight against the Hoosiers before losing by one point in Bloomington in 2018 and suffering a “he outsmarted me” loss in Brooklyn last season.

With Indiana likely being a top 20 team in the preseason, I’m a little surprised to see this be Louisville’s first-round opponent. Gonzaga is almost certainly the pre-tournament favorite, and the Hoosiers and Arizona are both in the running for second.

I’m a little surprised we didn’t get the spot that ultimately went to Oklahoma, but whatever. If we beat IU in the first game, we can be virtually guaranteed to play three opponents that most people expect to see in the NCAA Tournament.

Those three games on consecutive days leading directly to Saturday’s Kentucky football game…those are the days.
