The Little Farmer in Fond du Lac County is open for the 2024 season

Additional features of The Little Farmer, including the ability to pick your own apples, will be available around Labor Day.

FOND DU LAC – The Little Farmer, N9438 State 151, opened August 13 with the first apples of the season, as well as a bakery, store and more.

Apples available so far include Paula Red, Duchess, Jersey Mac and Zestar, which are pre-picked, washed and bagged. Pick-your-own apples will be available when the McIntosh apples are ripe.

The Applehouse is the central meeting place for apples from the orchard as well as fresh caramel, caramel apples, pies and muffins. Apple and apple walnut muffins are available every day and daily specials are listed each month on the Little Farmer website.

Applehouse also offers honey, sauces, jams, maple syrup and other kitchen items, as well as gifts, candles and home goods. On weekends, fresh bread from Breadsmith is available.

The Farmhouse, the cafe converted from the founding Beyers family’s home, offers freshly brewed coffee, tea and treats – including ice cream from Kelley Country Creamery. There are also gifts and other items for purchase on both floors of the house.

Activities for children so far include the playground with a pedal go-kart track and the farm with goats, sheep, Scottish Highland cattle and peacocks. Goats like to be hand-fed by visitors, so goat pellets are available for purchase for 25 cents per hand.

The Little Farmer is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Opening hours change in November.
