YOUNG POSSE release music video for “Ate That” inspired by “Grand Theft Auto”

K-pop girl group YOUNG POSSE has released their third mini album ‘Ate That’ and an atmospheric music video inspired by Grand Theft Auto for its title song.

Set in locations inspired by the cult video game series, the quintet are cruising through Venice Beach when they are challenged on-screen to steal a secret recipe from a donut shop. Chaos erupts as the group carries out their heist, which leads them into a series of break-ins and chases to evade the police.

Oh, devour my bread / It comes to 4+4 / Why count? Do a quick calculation (quick calculation!) / Yes, sister, I ate that / Oh, devour my bread / It comes to 4+4 / Why count? Do a quick calculation (quick calculation!) / Yes, sister, I ate that,“, they sing in the chorus.

In addition to “Ate That,” YOUNG POSSE’s new mini-album includes the tracks “Loading…,” “Bananas,” and “Umbrella.” The new record comes five months after the group released their second mini-album “XXL” in March.

Consisting of members Sunhye, Yeonjung, Jiana, Doeun and Jieun, the West Coast hip-hop-inspired girl group debuted in October 2023 with their mini album “Macaroni Cheese”.

The quintet is signed to DSP Media, home of the mixed K-pop group KARD and now-defunct bands such as Rainbow, April and MIRAE. The girl group KARA was also previously with the agency.

In other K-pop news, The Black Label has announced the upcoming debut of their first girl group, MEOVV. The company is led by longtime YG Entertainment producer Teddy, and members include K-pop musicians such as BLACKPINK’s Taeyang, Somi, and Rosé.
